Dear Haitian Compatriots & Friends of HAITI:
In light of the unending chaos in HAITI, we, the leaders of several organizations, have joined forces as a National Ad Hoc Movement to make our voices heard in a forceful way to bring the spotlight to the International Community on the suffering of our brothers and sisters in HAITI. As a coalition of Haitian Diaspora Organizations worldwide, we now recognize that the injustices perpetrated against our fellow citizens in HAITI have lasted far too long. We must stand up in solidarity and unity against the perpetrators and their wrongdoings. We can no longer stay silent in the face of the killings, kidnappings, and sexual abuse of innocent women and children and the whole population. As the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. stated: “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Therefore, we invite all the diaspora community to coalesce around us to send a powerful message to those who wish us harm, manipulate us, and keep us divided and defeated that the Spirit of Toussaint Louverture is still alive in our Soul-- the “Tree of Freedom” bequeathed to us by our fearless Generals is still alive. On July 21, 2023, we will stand up in front of the Department of State and MARCH to the White House to tell the Biden Administration and the International Community know that we, the Haitian Community at home and abroad, will be at the forefront to negotiate the Haitian affairs, to stop the killings, stop the barbaric acts and abuses of human rights, and finally, voice out the needs of the Haitian People at home. The time for a New HAITI with New and Sound Governance is imperative! Silence is complicity! Silence is no longer an option for any of us who truly cares about our beloved HAITI. We must act now! Show up, stand up, and MARCH in Washington DC on this Historical Day, shoulder-to-shoulder in solidarity, and together, let us make our voices heard. Liberté, Égalité et Fraternité = Liberty, Equality & Brotherhood/Fraternity.”
